Hello readers,

It has been a while and I will not disclose my absence as of yet.

Today I am here to promote a project I have been working on. I have spent the last couple of months creating paintings I can make into bags. The theme is Alien Invasion. This was a brand new idea for me, so it was a learning process.

First, I had to find the proper fabric to paint on. Next, I had to create the idea by sketching them on paper and then with chalk. The painting process was fun, but it took a while. First, I had to create backgrounds and then let them dry. Then I could work on the actual design. I tried to work on bags simultaneously in order to be efficient. Still, art can’t be rushed. After the paintings were finished, I purchased the fabric, which was a challenge. I wanted a fabric that would go well with the bags, and like I said, I am no expert. Finally, I cut and matched the material to each painting so it can be ready for me to sew. I made some mistakes sewing them, but overall they look great.

This took a lot of time and effort. I work multiple jobs and this was a project that I committed to during my free time, which means late nights or in between jobs. Once the heat started to kick in, it was hard to work but I kept my goal in mind. Honestly, at some point, I didn’t even want to sell my bags anymore. I was proud of them, and I wanted to keep them all. I also thought about keeping some of the profits for my work.

I am ashamed of myself for thinking about this, though. The purpose of this project is to raise money for children in a village in Afghanistan. My mom has been donating money to the village for a long time, but since the Taliban moved in, their situation has gotten worse. They have less food, no water, or any essentials. There is barely anymore. Children are hungry. The Taliban turned off the water well that provided water for the village. They asked the village to pay money for the water. Money they don’t have. So, my mom sends money to turn the water on every month for the village. America has sent money to Afghanistan since the Taliban took over, but I do no know where the money is going. The civilians are hungry. They have no food or water. Worst of all, children are hungry. I thank God every day when I get to lay in my comfortable bed. I am warm in the Winter and have cold water for the grueling Summer. Most of all, I am grateful for a home. Times are tough for us, too, right now in Los Angeles and everywhere, but I think we have to give to receive. I know I have it way better than the people of Afghanistan. If my parents didn’t get out when they did, I could still be there living a completely different life. At the end of the day, this isn’t about me. It is about these people that we can help, even if it’s just a little.

I present to you the Alien Invasion series. All bags are $200. All profits will be going to the village in Afghanistan. If you are interest, please email thefrshtashow@gmail.com. Even you know me personally then feel free to connect with me. Also, I want people to buy these bags because they want to help but also, rock the bag. I put way to much time into them for someone to just throw it to the side. I am working on an Etsy page to but buying directly is better.

Love,

Frshta
