I want to write about the show The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch. After I binge watched The Unexplained, Netflix recommended the next similar show which was The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch. I wasn’t up for it at first but my friend said it should be interesting. I didn’t really know anything about the ranch. I grew up watching shows on the History channel but I couldn’t remember anything about a ranch.

The show is about a ranch in Utah that has been known for unusual phenomenons for over 200 years. The ranch is owned by Brandon Fugal but before he owned it the ranch had three different owners.

1934–1994 – Kenneth and Edith Myers

1994–1996 – Terry and Gwen Sherman^[12]

1996–2016 – Robert Bigelow^[12]

2016–present – Brandon Fugal,^[13] via Adamantium Real Estate LLC^[1

The first owners have no memory or experiences of weird stuff happening on the ranch. However, the Sherman’s experienced portals opening up, cow mutilations, and hauntings that they sold the ranch to Robert Bigelow. Bigelow did a bunch of experiments which included help from the government. After twenty years, and a bunch of hidden documents, he sold the ranch to Brandon Fugal.

Fugal started a documentary on the ranch. He hired scientists to study the ranch and its odd behaviors. The show can be a little slow but it was intriguing. They studied the sky and the ground of Skinwalker ranch. They studied the supposedly haunted homesteads on the property and random radiation spikes on the property. It was all fascinating. I have always loved science and spooky stuff.

I couldn’t sleep for three nights after watching the first season. I was scared and I was trying to figure out why. I was relating it to Islam and our belief of a different realm existing. It just felt so real. So I stopped watching for a couple days because I needed to sleep. I finally became brave enough to watch season two on Hulu and I am itching to watch season three.

Simultaneously, NOPE by Jordan Peele came out this past month. I watched the movie and couldn’t help but think about Skinwalker ranch.Although the movie took place in Agua Dulce, California which isn’t far from where I live. The film was had these beautiful shots of the sky. It was so beautiful.

It was that moment that I realized I loved the sky and I just never realized it. The sky is magical.
