Judd Apatow was a simple man. He wore simple beige pants with a black polo shirt that was loosely fitted. He was cool. I couldn’t believe I was in the room with him.

Let me back up a little. It was my first time at the Sony lot in Culver City. It was a cloudy, cold morning. We walked to one of the rooms to meet Judd. There were doors with posters on them for his new show, Love. That show turned out to be one of my favorite shows to date. I love rewatching it.

I am going, to be honest. I am trying to remember what was said in that interview, but I need help remembering. It was years ago, and I plan on relistening to it soon. I will say that Judd was fascinating and the way he started in comedy was magical.

Here is the podcast if you want to give it a listen.

Meeting Judd was something I will always remember and one of the highlights of interning with Barry. The time was coming to an end for my internship with Barry. He wanted me to stay as long as I wanted to, but I knew that wouldn’t be a good idea. I was pushing almost six months. Barry wrote me a wonderful recommendation letter and suggested I mail it out to potential jobs.

Barry told me to start looking into companies I would want to work for. But which companies did I want to work for? He said to think of the movies I watch. Immediately, I started looking into horror companies because I love horror films. I found a couple that interested me ….New Line Cinema is notorious for its horror films….then there’s Sam Raimi’s company…Ghost House Pictures and finally ..there was Blumhouse Productions. It was notorious for its Paranormal Activity franchise and other low-budget horror films. Jason Blum had a particular method to his madness and hit the ground running. So, I mailed out letters and resumes. Heres the recommendation letter.
